At Peta’s Elegant Cakes we offer the option to hire a number of different cake stands please click on the boxes below to find your preferred stand. Cake stand, bases and separators and props are hired separately for a 4 day period, a $100 bond is required for all stands that are hired, the bond is refundable providing the terms & conditions of Hiring a Stand have been met.

So often it is overlooked as to how your cake will be displayed and how you intend to highlight it. Generally, your cake will be displayed on a table all by itself and photos will be taken and all attention on you as you cut the cake. However, I see it so often when I deliver a cake how often people overlook the importance of where the cake will be positioned and how it will be displayed. So much time goes into the design the appearance and the styling of your whole wedding or function and its very common to see the cake be put in the darkest corner or with the worse back drop of the setting. In particular a wedding cakes will often be the most expensive and most detailed cake you will ever purchase so take the time to think about how you intend to display your cake where you will position it in the room and what your lighting is like and ensuring it is in a position where guest can marvel at it.

Things to consider for your cake positioning and appearance

Place your cake in a position of the area that has great lighting natural light is always best but of an evening you may need to bring in additional lighting and consider your background also. Once guests are in the reception a cake is one of the most photographed elements of the wedding or function — second only to the bridal party.

Consider the size of the table in proportion to the size cake a smaller table will always make the cake look bigger. Take into consideration the stand you intend display the cake on. Ensure you have a sturdy table a fully decorated cake is heavy and requires good foundations to be displayed on.

Ensure the linen that is used on your cake table is fully of pressed and no creases, consider the colour often white is used however a coloured table cloth or runner or a touch of decoration can enhance your cake table and tie it all in with your theme on guest’s tables but in my opinion less is best and let the cake speak for its self and become centre of attention. A classy cake stand can add design height which will also enhance the cake dramatically.
